.
During this stage, you communicate with the client, find out the purpose for which you need a particular content, think over the ideas and possibilities of implementation.
When the concept is approved, you search for participants. As a rule, you will be present at the shooting:
Of course, you can ask acquaintances or friends to be your models, you can do all the makeup yourself, find the right clothes for everyone or borrow someone. Moreover, we at Kiwi Agency are confident that you can also do a great photoshoot on a budget of 10,000 UAH.
Our golden rule for sharing a small budget for a photoshoot:
Finding the right people takes quite a lot of time. We at Kiwi Agency usually prepare 5 variants of each category for different budgets and offer them to the client. It looks like a big presentation, where examples of work and cost of photographers/models/makeup artists/stylists are painted. The location is also approved.
TIP: It is best to look for and book your studio at least 2 weeks in advance of the estimated date of the shoot.
We usually prepare a large Excel spreadsheet with tabs:
Storyboard. Here, we will list each shot by the following parameters:
- stage (beauty, subject matter, architecture shots, and so on);
- reference (we insert an image);
- image description (since it's impossible to find a reference with a product identical to yours, you have to clarify what we're taking from the reference and what we're doing in our way)
- the product (which product we use in this shot);
- the details of the characters (if there are models in the shot);
- props and clothing;
- location (a specific place in the studio as there are often different areas in the same room);
- time per shot;
- total time per stage;
Once you have created an Excel spreadsheet with many tabs, it is worth sharing this beautiful work with the world, right?
Distribute the common scenario to all participants and indicate which tab to focus on. Listen to all comments, clarify your questions and answer the team's questions. Make the edits that you have just spoken through, and enjoy the feeling that all team members are clear about their task and area of responsibility.
TIP: sometimes it takes more than just photos to choose a model - it takes live interaction. A couple of days before the shooting we arrange a video call with the team where we have all the models, the photographer, and the make-up artist and talk about what is going to happen in the shoot. And at the same time, everyone can see the model's lively emotions and the state of her face, hair, manicure, and so on.
And here comes X day! Congratulations, it's almost the finish line.
The day before you should send out information to all the team about the place and time you want them on location, what to bring, and so on.
Make sure everyone involved feels comfortable: the make-up artist knows where to put the models, the stylist can safely hang and steam the clothes, the photographer/videographer has time to set up the lights (this usually takes 20-30 minutes, you should consider this when timing).
At this stage, if you are all well prepared, all you have to do is follow the plan and follow the timings that are laid down for each shot/stage of the shoot.
We recommend taking an assistant to the shoot who can quickly run small errands while the organizer oversees the main process of the shoot. This could be:
Shooting is behind us, but there's more to come!
What awaits you:
And so, we got what we wanted - bombastic content for the brand!
